In the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, family and friends came together for a heartfelt vigil on Monday night to honor a 17-year-old boy who was shot and murdered on Saturday night.

The initial report of an assault with a deadly weapon and gunfire was received in the 200 block of North Lake Street, across from Lake Street Primary School, at approximately 7:10 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to authorities, the 17-year-old victim—whose family has named him as Gabriel Quintas—suffered at least one gunshot wound to the chest and was sent in serious condition to a nearby hospital right away.

Police confirmed on Sunday that he passed away from his wounds.

“My son has such a lovely soul. At the vigil, Marisel Rams, the teen’s mother, told KTLA, “He was very special, he was very unique.” “He had a good heart. He wanted everyone to be happy, and whomever killed him was unaware of this. They were unaware of him. They kidnapped my boy. There’s nothing more that I can say.

Following the event, the victim’s father went out and pleaded for someone to come forward and assist his son in getting justice.

Angelo Quintas told KTLA, “The people that did this, they know Gabriel and Gabriel’s friends, they all know each other.” “Someone is aware of something. Gabriel doesn’t deserve this, so find it in your heart to lend a hand in bringing him some justice. He wasn’t deserving of being just killed; he was a nice and gentle man.

To assist in raising money for Gabriel’s funeral, a GoFundMe page has been set up.

Police haven’t issued any descriptions of suspects as of yet.
