According to the most recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Hawaii’s population has been slowly declining for the sixth consecutive year.
According to records, the state’s population decreased by 0.5% between July 2021 and July 2022, from 1.447 million to 1.440 million. Hawaii came in fifth place in the US last year for the largest population drop overall, trailing only West Virginia, Louisiana, Illinois, and New York.
