The Second School Knife Assault in Two Days Occurred at a Bronx School, Injuring a 12-year-old Girl


The Bronx At J.H.S. 123 James M. Kieran School in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx on Wednesday morning, a 12-year-old girl was stabbed with a knife, according to the NYPD.

Just after 9:30 a.m., police went to a 911 call to the non-scanning school, where the girl was discovered with a slashed right leg.

She arrived at Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition, and a full recovery is anticipated.

Authorities claim that a different 14-year-old pupil slashed the girl.

The stabbing is the most recent in a line of events in which different types of weapons have been found or utilized in New York City schools.

According to the NYPD, a 15-year-old student was stabbed inside Midwood, Brooklyn’s Edward R. Murrow High School on Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call.

The youngster was rushed to Maimonides Hospital in stable condition after receiving a stab wound to the stomach, according to the police.

According to authorities, an individual of interest was placed under arrest.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our absolute top priority,” the DOE stated in a statement. NYPD School Safety responded to an issue at the school right away, and EMS and NYPD are now present. The short-term lockout on the building has been lifted.”

A few weeks after the government abruptly canceled a class of 250 agents due to budgetary concerns, Mayor Eric Adams just announced that the city will hire 120 new school safety agents.
